Pour the batter into your prepared pan. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool for about 30 minutes before serving. Right before serving, sprinkle the top with powdered sugar or top with brown sugar frosting (see recipe below).
Cook the vegan butter, brown sugar and plant-based milk (or creamer) in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook and stir until the butter melts. Then stop stirring and let it come to a boil. Once boiling, let it continue boiling for 1 minute. Then turn the heat down to low and let it simmer for another minute. Whisk in the powdered sugar and then remove from heat. Let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Drizzle it over the warm cake.
